I’m no Nicole Kidman, but we still won’t tell big little lies: parks make movies better!
We’re about halfway through Boston’s nationally recognized summer movie nights in the parks, with East Boston up tonight and five more screenings through September 1st. The movies begin at dusk (usually around 8PM) and there’s free popcorn thanks to AMC Loews!
In our work to make Boston the best city for families and the greenest city in America, parks play a starring role—in promoting health and fun, preserving our climate and strengthening our communities. In this year’s Trust for Public Land survey of the hundred biggest cities in the country, Boston ranked 10th for parks overall and 1st for park access: 100% of Boston residents live within a ten-minute walk of a public park.

Over the last year and a half, we’ve unveiled 24 newly renovated parks and playgrounds, and we’ll keep working to make sure that every last one of our 2,300 acres of park land is spectacular and well-programmed. Boston’s parks aren’t just spaces for fresh air, but also host opportunities to come together with neighbors and friends around music and dance, sports, watercolor, yoga, movies, and more.
Don’t miss out on our remaining movie nights this summer:
Mon, Aug. 21: Vivo @ Noyes Playground, East Boston
Tues, Aug. 22: Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile @ Peters Park, South End
Weds, Aug. 23: Spider-Man: No Way Home @ Healy Playground, Roslindale
Mon, Aug. 28: DC League of Super-Pets @ Iacono Playground, Hyde Park
Tues, Aug. 29: The Bad Guys @ Winthrop Square, Charlestown
Fri, Sept. 1: Super Mario Bros. Movie @ Boston Common (Frog Pond), Downtown
Is this the most cringeworthy video by a politician since Mike Dukakis with the helmet on in the Abrams tank? If not, which one is worse?
